Operation Zechariah
Hope 2008 has begun, and over the next few months preparations will continue for ‘Hope on the Streets: Operation Zechariah’ which takes place 23rd-26th July. This will span from the city centre across the East of Norwich and is supported by the East Norwich Youth Project (ENYP), St Mary Magdalene on Silver Road and Norwich Central Baptist Church. The focus of ‘Hope of the Streets’ is not just for young people to get involved it’s for the whole Body of Christ to work together.
Wednesday 23 rd July will be a key day of praying for the work in the following days, with Thursday 24 th and Friday 25 th providing days of being active and evangelising in the community. The time will end with family fun days in each area on the Saturday, and will provide a great opportunity for everyone to pitch in! Churches in the areas are being asked to get ready with follow up material, such as Alpha Courses or Christianity Explored, in preparation for God’s Kingdom to grow.
To help support the work we are holding a fundraising Ball on Friday 29th February 2008, at Norwich Central Baptist Church from 7.30pm. Tickets are a very reasonable £10 which includes an evening meal and live music entertainment by local Jazz group Blueprint. We want to emphasis that this is not just for young people, and so it would be great to see you there to support ‘Hope on the Streets’. Tickets can be obtained by contacting Lucie; administrator@enyp.org.uk
Registration forms will soon be available for July and we pray you will consider joining us for these few days. We will also be holding a 24 hour prayer day on Monday 31st March (the booking system will be posted within the next month or so). Please join us as we pray for Hope on the Streets, to pray that God would impact communities, that his Kingdom would grow and that His Body would bring Hope to our city.
