St Barnabas counselling needs receptionists
The St Barnabas Counselling Centre in Norwich is appealing for volunteer receptionists.
Receptionist required for our warm, caring and friendly counselling centre. Interesting, varied and rewarding work; meeting clients personally, taking phone calls, entering client bookings, etc. One day or half-day each week.
Volunteer receptionists make a huge difference to our Centre. As a charity, we offer counselling to those often less able to pay who might otherwise be excluded from counselling, and helping our clients feel welcome is a key role.
We seek someone who is caring and sensitive to our clients, and who recognises the need for confidentiality. Helpful support/training will be given in what can be quite varied work within the Centre. Previous experience not necessary, but a caring approach is.
“St Barnabas is a counselling centre with faith at its heart,” said trustee, Rev Brenda Mosedale. “The centre was founded in 1974 and although not all its counsellors and other staff are Christian, it has always been surrounded by prayer.
Duties include: meeting and greeting clients; making tea and coffee; answering the telephone; making appointments with clients and liaison with administration and counsellors for appointments and room bookings.
