Norwich duo go extra 120 miles for church funds

2008: PaulMackaySimonBransbyDeepVicar of Mile Cross in Norwich, Rev Paul Mackay, together with Simon Bransby, a member of his Parochial Church Council are going the extra mile to raise charity cash.

The duo will be donning bicycle shorts, a cassock and surplice, to take part in the London - Brighton bike ride on Sunday June 15. However, in an extra effort to raise funds for the St Catherine's Development Fund, they will also be cycling the 120 miles from Norwich down to the official start in London. The pair will leave leaving St Catherine's, Mile Cross at 9am on Thursday June 12.

Two-thirds of the money they raise (in the leg from Norwich to London) will be in aid of the St Catherine's Development Fund. This forms part of a massive fund-raising effortto raise over £250,000 to complete the necessary re-wiring of the church together with essential major roof repairs.

The remaining third (the London-Brighton race) will be in aid of the British Heart Foundation.
