Norfolk action group appoints co-ordinator
The Norfolk branch of Christian action group on marriage, Explore, has appointed a new co-ordinator, launched a new DVD, organised a fundraising meal and is looking for volunteers.
Explore provides opportunities for students, and young offenders, to consider their own thoughts and feelings about marriage and relationships, and to explore the issues that particularly concern them.
Karen Nice (pictured right) has been appointed as the new local co-ordinator. Karen moved to Norwich from Glasgow in 1991 at the age of 16. She has worked in retail management, customer services and as a teaching assistant. She is married to a church leader at Meadow Way Chapel in Hellesdon, where she is involved in the music and worship team and the youth and children's work.
Karen said: “My job involves me liaising with local high schools to set up Explore events and then bringing in volunteer couples and adviser coaches to participate in these events. I also look after the administration for the Norfolk local community action group.”
Karen has just launched a new promotional DVD, which she will send out for free if you contact her and is also organizing a fundraising meal on the evening of June 14 at Meadow Way. She is on the lookout for more people to volunteer as adviser coaches and couples at events looking at marriage and relationships.
