New EP from Norwich band pierces darkness
JUNE 08: Norwich-based Christian indie rock band Kairos, are released a new EP, titled Piercing the Darkness on June 6.
Kairos previously came to fame by winning a national competition, Ultimate Showcase, in 2007 to play alongside international group Delirious at the Ultimate Event at Alton Towers.
After spending most of 2008 so far writing and crafting new songs, the boys have recorded what they regard astheir best songs to date. After recording demos in their own private recording studio, they travelled down to the south of England to work with producer Paul Burton. Paul has over 15 years experience working in the music industry and has worked with artists like Athlete, Snow Patrol and many Christian artists such as Delirious, Matt Redman and Verra Cruz to name a few.
Lead singer and song writer Aaron Pimlott said: “We, as a band, are passionate about bringing songs to people that relate to where they are at in their life, and to inspire and challenge them. My favourite song on the EP is Solution as it is an honest and real song about a girl, whose life has hit rock bottom resorting to prostitution and drugs, losing all self respect.
“The song states, despite this huge mess that this girl has fallen into, that there must be a Solution, there must be room for Mercy. We believe this is God’s time for us to shine and we are going to seize the moment, display a positive lifestyle and fulfil God’s great purpose for us.”
Kairos are also set for their first tour aboard as they travel to Portugal in the middle of June. They will be travelling to several cities starting in Lisbon. As well as this first international tour, the band has been touring all over the UK and Northern Ireland this year.
From the June 6, you will be able to buy the EP from the online store from their website www.kairos-band.co.uk
