New deacons and priests across Norfolk

GrahamJamesThe Bishop of Norwich is to ordain three new deacons at Norwich Cathedral on Saturday 4th October at 11am.


Paul Norwood (36) is to serve at South Lynn. He works for Otis Lifts in the King's Lynn area. He is married to Carol and has three young daughters.

Keith Dignum (54) is to serve at Coltishall. He has been a teacher for the last 32 years, most recently as Assistant Head of Old Catton Church of England Junior School. In his spare time he works as a professional musician (specializing in Barn dances) and is a member of the Anglican Magic Society. He is married to Julie and has three grown-up daughters.

Frank Clarke (62) is to serve in the Weybourne Group of Parishes. He has been a librarian all his working life, progressing to Assistant Director with responsibility for libraries, archives and museums in the Doncaster area. He is married to Annette and they have two married children and two grandsons. Frank sings in two local choirs, and he and Annette are National Trust Volunteers at Felbrigg Hall.

On Sunday 5th October, the Bishops of Norwich, Thetford and Lynn will ordain 8 new priests in parishes across the Diocese:

The Bishop of Norwich will ordain: Keith Brown serving at Earlham (St Anne's, Earlham - Sun 05 Oct at 11am) and Phil Charlesworth serving at Sprowston (St Cuthbert's, Sprowston - Sun 05 Oct at 3pm)

The Bishop of Thetford will ordain: Reg Kirkpatrick serving in the Earsham group of parishes (St Mary's, Ditchingham - Sun 05 Oct at 3pm); Gill Osborne serving in the Strattons (St Mary's, Long Stratton - Sun 05 Oct at 11am); and David Sochon serving in the Tas Valley Team (All Saints', Shotesham - Sat 04 Oct at 6.30pm)

The Bishop of Lynn will ordain: Paul Neale serving at Cromer (SS Peter and Paul, Cromer - Sun 05 Oct at 10.30am); Jane Nursey serving in the Dereham Team (St Nicholas', Dereham - Sat 04 Oct at 2.30pm) and Derrick Sheppard serving in the Quidenham and Guiltcross Group (Sun 05 Oct at 4pm).

I hope that they have the congregations in the parishes to support them. Many parishes eg Bunwell and Benefice struggle to raise the money required for the Benefices
