Norwich cathedrals unite in song project

NorwichCathedralNorwich's two cathedrals have come together as part of a project to get young people across the county singing their way to future harmony and happiness.

Norwich Anglican Cathedral (pictured right)and Norfolk County Music Service have won £35,000 of government funding for an outreach project set up in conjunction with St John's Roman Catholic Cathedral, Norwich School.

On Thursday November 20,more than 150 youngsters celebrated at Norwich Cathedral with a song as part of their first sing together following the cash boost.

The scheme, which hopes to get children singing at school and home, is already oversubscribed with 750 children across the county signed up, and more are set to follow.

The award to The Norwich Consortium has been praised nationally because it brings together the city's two cathedrals, as well as brining together children from state and private schools to make music together.

Congrats to the Norwich Consortium on winning this award. Such funds always require a lot of work to get so I am glad you have been rewarded, for a wonderful project plan.
We are blessed in Norwich with some wonderful leaders for peoples choirs such as Sian Croose of The Voice Project. Lets sing with joy!
