Help Christian Aid help the poorest

Christian AidChristian Aid, which is based at the Kings Centre in Norwich, is looking for a range of volunteers to help with its work.

We would especially appreciate confident and friendly office volunteers to help with telephoning our local organisers to book speaker events and keep in touch with local volunteers. We also need assistance with updating our database and sending out mailings.

Each year we get around 30 or 40 requests for volunteer speakers to visit churches and preach, or give presentations about Christian Aid's projects. If you have knowledge of development, and an interest in speaking about our work, you are welcome to get in touch. We can offer training and plenty of resources.

Christian Aid also has a scheme for volunteer teachers who go into schools to take assemblies and lessons. This kind of opportunity might particulary suit early retired or supply teachers.

A growing part of our work is through key youth volunteers, who do fundraising in schools and youth groups, help with sponsored events and fairs, put on quizzes, speak about our work and generally have permission to take initiative and run with their ideas. If that sounds like you, please be in touch.

If you have a willing spirit, availability, and like working as part of a team, we would like to hear from you. We are at the Kings Centre, King Street, Norwich, NR1 1PH, 01603 620051. Please ask for Eldred Willey, who is also on ewilley@christian-aid.org
