Churches in Lynn join to pray for unity
Churches in King's Lynn are joining together to celebrate a week of prayer for Christian unity. Events include lunchtime prayer, midweek services and the programme culminates in a joint service on Sunday January 25.
The week of prayer from January 18 - 25 is a national initiative that offers opportunities to meet and pray with fellow Christians of different denominations in the local area.
Each year the theme for the week of is developed by one country which produces material that is adapted for use in other parts of the world. Korea is the selected country for 2009 and the churches have been inspired by Ezekiel 37.15-28 because they can relate to the prophet who also lived in tragically divided nation and longed for the unity of his people.
Churches Together in King's Lynn are holding a joint service on Wednesday January 21 at 7.30pm at Greyfriars School, London Road.
Visiting speaker Father David Seeds, Priest of the Orthodox parish of Cusworth in South Yorkshire will be speaking about the "challenge to Christianity in the western world" on Saturday January 24 at St Felix Chapel, Babingley.
