Aussie businessman speaks at Norwich lunch

GrahamBlickAustralian international businessman Graham Blick was the guest speaker at a recent FGBMFI Christian businessmen’s lunch in Norwich at the Maids Head Hotel in Tombland at 1pm on Thursday, April 16.

“Winners never quit – the only limits in your life are the ones you set yourself.” It was quotes like these by the famous blind adventurer and motivational speaker, Miles Hilton-Barber that impacted the life of Graham, whose father served with the Australian Light Horse, the Grenadier Guards and the Ghurkas.

Graham has wide international business experience ranging from aviation, utlities retailing, management and the mining industry.

He was visiting Norwich from Perth, Western Australia, for family reasons – primarily the birth of his first grandson, Corban.

Graham’s own life reflects that of Hilton-Barber – the first blind man to fly the Channel - who famously said: “Never be afraid to try something new. Remember, amateurs built the Ark. Professionals built the Titanic.”

Graham, who came to faith through the testimony of men such as Hilton-Barber and a Christian senior accountant, includes fishing, clay target shooting and military history among his special interests. He is also doing a doctorate in business software systems and resource management.

His 25-minute talk is one of a regular series of monthly lunchtime events held at the Maid’s Head in the centre of the city.

The lunches (from 1-2pm) are aimed largely at people who work in the city and are designed to fit in a standard lunch hour with a half-hour meal followed by a talk.

The cost to attend the lunch is £6 and all are welcome, say the organisers, the Norwich Chapter of the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship.
