Norfolk Christian charity offers India chance

HopeCommunityTrustA Norfolk Christian charity working in rural India is offering short-term opportunities for people to teach English and maths in a school and to get involved in evangelical mission work.

The Hope Community Trust is linked with the Grace Christian Fellowship based in Mile Cross Lane, Norwich. It is a small Christian Charity working in Andhra Pradesh, India. The charity is located on a five acre campus in a small rural village called Kuntinavasala and is the base for a bible college and children’s home of 40 - 50 kids and a children’s day school of about 200 teaching poor local children.

Pastor Nicky Eatalapaka says, “We are offering two opportunities for gap year students wanting to do something worthwhile and Gospel related. We have opportunities for people to come for three or six weeks to work in our children’s school and teach English, maths and other basic subjects and help in the children’s home. Volunteers live on the campus and engage fully in local life and ministry within the campus.

We also have opportunities for people wanting to do some missions work and experience the challenge of reaching those in rural Andhra Pradesh who have never heard of Jesus Christ.”

Hope Community Trust is surrounded by over 300 villages that have never heard the gospel, and the charity holds weekly evangelism activities to reach these people. This includes sending out Gospel teams to do village evangelism, Gospel crusades and work with local pastors in rural villages to strengthen and teach Christians. Volunteers would have the opportunity to travel to remote areas of the interior of Andhra Pradesh, work with an interpreter and local pastors to bring the gospel to the lost. All volunteers live on the campus and participate fully in the daily activities.
