Employing a new community or youth worker?

This can be a daunting experience for small churches. In order to avoid unnecessary work, Livability has created template employment documents that can be easily tailored including job description, contract, supervision notes, and an annual performance review. Click here to download them.

How evangelistic should church toddler groups be?
Many churches run toddler groups as community outreach and often concerns are raised from within the church and community about how evangelistic these groups should be. Mission in the community – running a toddler group shares how James Peters of Oasis Church in Chadwell Heath, London dealt with the challenges of maintaining the mission element of toddler groups as well as some tips on dealing with change.
Nursing skills to benefit the community
Parish Nursing Ministries UK helps churches equip the nurses in their congregations to use their professional skills to serve the community. After attending a week of training, parish nurses are able to give personal health advice relating to spiritual needs as well as healthy lifestyles. Read stories of what parish nurses have done, use their Bible study with a small group or contact them for more information.

Help to respond to the needs in your community
Getting started in community mission is a short article written by Livability aimed at churches who are considering responding to local needs. It highlights the first steps as well as key Bible passages to study. Visit the Community Mission website for more practical tools, reflective articles and recommended reading.
