Anglia TV manager tells story of faith
Derek Gidney, manager of information technology at Anglia Television, was guest speaker at the Norwich lunch for business people at the Maid’s Head Hotel on Thursday, May 21, 2009.
A Norfolk-born family man, Derek was a former contracts director in the building industry until his love of “messing about with computers” first drew him into the media world.
But his interest in Christianity was first awakened by a business colleague. Then a friend gave him a booklet called “What’s the Point?” which he says, “opened my eyes – and the rest is history.”
Derek’s 25-minute talk is one of a regular series of monthly lunchtime events held at the Maid’s Head in the centre of the city.
The lunches (from 1-2pm) are aimed largely at people who work in the city and are designed to fit in a standard lunch hour with a half-hour meal followed by a talk.
The cost to attend the lunch is £6 and all are welcome, say the organisers, the Norwich Chapter of the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship.
