Free Bible with every bike at Norwich dealership
Bikers Bibles are set to be given to every person buying a Harley Davidson motorbike from a dealership in Norwich after a partnership between its owner Russ Dacre and the local Christian Motorcyclists Association (CMA).
First published in 2007, the Bikers Bible comprises a New Testament, a directory of where to find advice in the Bible on various topics and testimonies from members of the CMA. The CMA aims to place a bible in the hands of every UK biker and 22,000 copies have already been distributed.
Russ Dacre said: “The Biker Bibles are a great resource available for the biking community to read the Bible in a relevant way. At Norwich Harley-Davidson and Lind BMW Motorrad we thought it would be novel to provide these for our customers. I guess we may never know the outcome, but at the very least it is another practical way of trying to share the great news of Christ to our local community.”
Ken Hardy, secretary of the Norfolk branch of the CMA explained that the idea for the scheme came about when the CMA president Mike Fitton met dealership owners Graham and Russ Dacre at a Norwich event.
Ken said, "The CMA are delighted with this arrangement of a Bible for every bike. We offer the Bikers Bible to anyone who wants one; we don't push them upon people but, just as Jesus went out to minister to people, we do the same by going out to meet Norfolk bikers where they are - on rides, at rallies and in pubs."
