Norwich churches team up for summer project

Hope09KidsThree Norwich churches are teaming up to offer a free children’s activity scheme this summer and are appealing for volunteers to help them run it.

Oak Grove Chapel in partnership with St Catherine’s and Kings Community Church are running the Hope Project in Mile Cross and Catton Grove from August 26-28.

It will be three days of great fun activities for those aged 8-13, including sport, music, drama, art and chill out board games room.

It is all completely free and will take place at Catton Grove Primary School 1.30-3.30pm. If you would like your child to attend please click here to download the child consent form.

Hope09SpeakerCommunity youth worker, Pete Skivington, said: “We will also be sending out prayer walkers, litter pickers and a street team around the estate to tell people the good news about Jesus and invite them to the barbecue taking place at St Catherine’s on the Friday night, from 6-8pm.  Last year this attracted nearly 300 people for free burgers and sausages and once again we have music, circus entertainments, giant games and much more.”

The volunteer team will be meeting in the mornings at St Catherine’s for worship, teaching, banter, prayer and cakes before serving on the projects in the afternoons.

Hope09BarbecueIf you are aged 14+ and interested in being involved, please click here to download a volunteer form, and return it to Pete Skivington at Oak Grove Chapel, at pete@oakgrovetrust.org.uk
