OpenStudents2Pupils at the new Open Academy in Norwich have posted their best-ever exam results by doubling the school's GCSE results in just one year.

Students at the Open Academy on Marryat Road in north-east Norwich, which only opened for business last September, posted all-time record results for the former Heartsease High School.

The percentage of pupils gaining the benchmark five or more A*-C grades including English and maths surged from 16pc to 31.25pc, while the proportion getting five A*-Cs in any subjects improved from 38pc to 47pc.
