Norfolk village to see first-ever full baptisms

ShipdhamEastEndWeb2009: Members of Shipdham Community Church in Mid Norfolk are gearing themselves up for the first baptisms at East End Chapel in Shipdham for more than 30 years and what are believed to be the first ever baptisms by full immersion in Shipdham.

Shipdham Community Church is a new church launched in 2004 and features vibrant worship and contemporary teaching for the whole family. Previous baptisms in the church have taken place at a church in nearby Watton.

The service will be held on Sunday September 27 at 2:30pm and is creating quite a bit of interest within the village.

Pastor Paul Taylor said: "These is a very exciting time for Shipdham Community Church and for the village itself. We are expecting this to be a very lively and joyful celebration.

“This event is creating quite a bit of interest within the village; together with family and friends of the baptism candidates, this is going to be a very busy service with a good number of new faces present.

“Of course, we will making the most of this opportunity to share the Good News with these people. We are looking forward to many more baptisms in Shipdham as the church continues to grow."
