Queens Community Church goes live

Queens congregation

After three Sunday services QCC, Taverham Evangelical Church’s plant is in full swing. Average attendance over the three Sundays is approximately 30 people with one third of that number coming from the Queens Hills community each week.

The church has only been open for three weeks and the children's ministry is already up and running with seven children attending last sunday.

Queens Hills Primary school, where QCC meets each Sunday at 10.30am, is an excellent venue and the school staff has been extremely helpful and supportive.

Church leader Vic Ready says, "For us at QCC this is a fantastic opportunity to be at the start and at the heart of a new and growing community. It is so important that when large communities such as Queens Hills are planned all Queens worshipof the basic ingredients to make community are added. That does of course mean schools, shops and recreational areas, but to my mind this must also mean a local, vibrant community church.

"It was ‘The Carpenters’ who recorded the hit song, ‘We’ve only just begun’ and that is true enough of us at QCC. It was, however, a much more famous carpenter who said, ‘I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it (Matthew 16:18)’. Please continue to pray for us as we work and worship together with the Queens Hills community."
