West Norfolk churches join day of prayer
Churches in King's Lynn joined forces to celebrate the national Day of Prayer on Saturday October 17. The theme for the day was "Hungry for One World" and Christians from the town prayed for peace throughout the day.
The event, organised by Churches Together in King's Lynn, took place at St John's Church. Each church took a slot throughout the day.
John Belfield of Churches Together in King's Lynn says, "Churches Together in King's Lynn for many years now has offered the people of our town the opportunity to experience praying with the many different Christian traditions that make up the Christian family. It is a powerful symbol of Christians worshipping together.
"But it is also an opportunity for the Christian family to be aware of the whole human family as created by God and each year we focus on one aspect of this need. Prayer is the one thing ALL Christians can do that has a powerful impact on our lives and on the lives of those we pray for. It must be comforting to Jesus when He comes to us as we are gathered in His name to meet a diverse group of His family praying together trustfully and lovingly."
