Norfolk church launches service with difference

TecPMBand2009: A Norfolk church has launched a new Sunday evening service with a difference - it is run by the youth ministry team but is aimed at all ages.

Taverham Evangelical Church (TEC) began a new Sunday evening service on Sunday September 27 at Thorpe Marriott Village Hall, 6.30pm.

Called simply TEC PM, it will be a regular once a month meeting on the fourth Sunday of every month. The services will be run by the youth ministry, led by Esther Ward and Luke Brendling, TEC’s youth leaders.

TEC pastor, Vic Ready, said: “Although run by our youth ministry, TEC PM is specifically designed to be a meeting for all ages, from the youngest to the oldest.

“There are many Sunday evening services that have been specifically designed for youth and that is good and right. However, it is also important that young and old have the opportunity to worship together, the older generation to be refreshed and revitalised by the energy of youth, the younger generation to learn and grow from the experience of experience.

“We would love to welcome any Christian whose home church does not have an evening service, to worship with us. It is important for me to make it very clear, however, that any visitors who want to come along will not be approached to join our ministry; this is a facility for the whole body of Christ,” said Vic.

TecPMWorshipAlthough the first service was led by the youth ministry and was therefore lively and dynamic, it attracted people from all age groups who thoroughly enjoyed spending an evening devoted primarily to worship.   The meeting was led by Luke Brendling and Esther Ward who shared a short message on ‘Coming back to the heart of Worship’, which was precisely what they did.

“At TEC PM we want to create an environment where everyone is comfortable and everyone can worship God freely in Spirit and truth,” said Vic.

The next TEC PM service takes place this Sunday, October 25, from 6.30pm.
