Norwich church honours community champs

Heather and Ian Awards
Oak Grove Chapel in Norwich recently honoured two people who have made significant contributions to the Catton Grove community in their annual Community Champions Awards.
 
The winners this year were Dr Ian Gibson and Mrs Heather Didwell.
 
in recognition of all he has done in the community while MP for Norwich North and Mrs Heather Didwell for tireless work at  for over 30 years and her amazing work amongst the elderly.
 
Heather has worked tirelessly at Catton Grove Community Centre for over 30 years, in that time she has run a club for older people which included organising social activities and holidays. She has played an active part in keeping the centre going and also did the cleaning.
 
Ian’s contribution to the community has been to personally help an enormous number of local people on a variety of issues whilst he was our MP for Norwich North. He is considered to be a man who served the people. He has worked very closely with Oak Grove Chapel whenever he could as a friend, encourager and helper.
 
The awards were presented by the church leadership who say, "Well done Heather and Ian you make us proud to be part of this community."
