Norwich church's epic Christmas at TV studios

ProclaimBand3WebBy Keith Morris

A Norwich church is planning a truly epic Christmas by holding its services in a TV Studio, welcoming guests from a Hillsong church in Australia, and broadcasting the services live on the internet to a potential worldwide audience.

This Sunday, December 13, Proclaimers Church will make its second annual trip to Epic TV Studios on Magdalen Street in Norwich. The former Anglia TV Studio is now recognised as one of the best equipped studios in Europe.

“It’s a great venue for our Christmas services and our Epic Weekend,” said Executive Pastor Owen Morgan. “It brings us that bit closer to the city, we can fit more people in for great services and on top of that, we can produce a high quality visual product using the studio’s broadcast equipment.”

“The idea of an Epic weekend is basically that it’s a weekend where everyone makes an extra effort to bring friends or family to church. As always, the services will be accessible to people who don’t usually attend church, with a powerful, transformational gospel message.”

The Epic month of December continues on December 20, with Proclaimers’ Christmas Services, once again live from Epic Studios. Last year’s Christmas Specials were spectacular and saw record numbers of people making a decision to follow Christ, according to Owen.

This year’s Christmas special includes spectacular music, media and dance plus a guest from Hillsong Church in Sydney. Scott Samways, aka Sanga is one of the Youth Pastors at Hillsong and is also the Regional Director of Youth Alive, New South Wales.

“Sanga is an outstanding communicator and we are really looking forward to having him speak into the life of our church” said Proclaimers senior pastor Tom Rawls.

The weekends at Epic will include morning services at 11am with evening services at 7pm.

As well as those attending the event, Proclaimers hope to broadcast the services direct to the internet so that people all over the world will be able to tune in to take part in the services.
