Christian drama group Diversion are joining forces with popular Norfolk band Taste to bring a concert for young people in Norwich.
Oak Grove Chapel are hosting the Check It Out concert at The Hub, Catton Grove Primary School, Norwich at 7pm on Saturday 13 February. Admission is £1.
The band will also be leading worship and sharing about their work at Oak Grove’s service at 10am on Sunday 14 February 14th
Taste, headed up by Joy and Andy Clark, and part of Viz-a-Viz Ministries, are a Christian band with years of experience in evangelism through music. The Check it Out team have quite a connection with Norfolk as band manager Joy originally hails from Norwich. The team have been involved with many local events, including Living Water, Rock Solid weekends and other events working with local churches, schools and youth organisations.
They use their dance/rock sound to challenge young people’s pre-conceived ideas of the Christian faith and present Jesus in an exciting and relevant way.
Writing all their own material, Diversion, have an extensive repertoire of first class sketches and professional presentations which thoroughly entertain. Using a blend of humour and more serious theatre Diversion present the Christian truth in a relevant way to both churched and unchurched audiences.
The gig consists of a full set from Taste, games and sketches from Diversion and a brief Gospel message. Leaflets are distributed about what it means to be a Christian as well as information on Christian unions and groups younbg people can go to.
Joy says, “The team have some great stories about what Jesus has done in their lives and many of the young people at our events begin to ask us questions like does God really exist? Is he really interested in my life?”
