Training gives insight into children's spirituality

rebecca nyeThe Julian Centre in Norwich is delighted to offer two fantastic opportunities for clergy, laity, children’s workers and parents and teachers, to join Rebecca Nye on an experiential day course into spiritual exploration.

Rebecca Nye [pictured right] is the author of Children’s Spirituality, and co-author of The Spirit of the Child and Psychology for Christian Ministry. Rebecca introduced Godly Play to the UK ten years ago and she is an internationally recognised expert in her field. Godly Play has made an unprecedented impact on children’s ministry, and has influenced approaches to both RE and worship.

Being sensitive to the different modes of spiritual language — symbol, gesture, verbal language and silence — Godly Play is also proving to be an innovative approach to spiritual exploration for adult groups too, from prisoners to ordinands.

Drawing on research, new methods of children’s spirituality and our own experience, these workshops will be exploring the challenges and opportunities offered by this approach for both education and theology.
