Training to make Norwich Cafechurch a reality
New Hope Christian Centre is pleased to announce that the Cafechurch Network will be coming to Norwich on Saturday 24 April to run cafechurch training for all who are interested.
Often church is seen as being out of touch and boring. Cafechurch seeks to change all that by offering people an opportunity to meet in a relaxed atmosphere to look at issues, such as the environment, debt, stress and relationships, from a Christian perspective.
Duane Elkins from New Hope Christian Centre says, "The great thing about cafechurch is that we can invite our friends and loved ones to a place they probably already frequent. Add to that, organised discussions of relevant topics, quizzes and personal stories and you have the making of an evening of influence."
The training day will be filled with worship, teaching and workshops that will equip people to run a cafechurch. The background of cafechurch will be explained as well the vision for "a cafechurch on every high street".
Duane continues, "You do not have to start a cafechurch if you attend the training. You can join with others who are planning one, or take the information to your church leader. If nothing else, by attending the day you will know whether going to ‘church’ at the local café is for you."
Individuals and groups are welcome to attend. The day starts with registration at 9am, lunch is provided, and finishes around 4.30pm.
