Thousands raised as Catton walks for Haiti

Haiti sponsored walkA group of Norwich residents from a church, playgroup and local schools joined in a sponsored walk to raise money for the victims of the Haiti earthquake and they raised a whopping £5030.

On Sunday February 7, Catton walked for Haiti in an event organised by Oak Grove Chapel, Catton Grove Primary, The Angel Schools, Sewell Park College and the Pavilion Playgroup.

The event was a huge success. Carol Woodward from Oak Grove Chapel says, "The weather was bad but the community was the best. They came, they thought of others, they enjoyed good cakes, they shared what community was and they did good because they are such amazing people. Now all the pounds and pennies are in, the amazing total is £5030."
"We would like to thank our many walkers and their sponsors. Thanks also to Woodgrove Parade Newsagent, NEP Banners, the one and only Pudsey Bear, our Lord Mayor, Sheriff and Chloe Smith."
All money raised will go to the Christian Aid Haiti relief fund.
