Norwich Christian Steve gets back on his bike
Norwich Christian Resource Centre manager Steve Foyster is aiming to cycle 120 miles from his home north of Norwich to Tower Bridge, London in an effort to raise funds for various improvements to the shop, café and garden area within the centre.
"In my late teens and 20s we used to go on bike rides a lot. The longest one I ever did was from Norwich to Harlow which was 95 miles - but we never hit the 100 mile mark."
Since then Steve has experienced disability problems and back pain meaning that he couldn't get on his bike. Recently things have improved and he has decided to take the challenge. Steve said, "It has been my dream to do this for a long time. Now the Norwich Christian Resource Centre is registered as a charity, I can now do the cycle ride as a fundraiser.
We have a chiller which has been leaking for a while and can't be repaired - this will cost around £900 to replace. We'd also like to buy another printer. I would love to raise around £1,200 as that would mean I am raising £10 a mile - and that thought will help keep me going!"
Steve will be cycling to London on his own from September 11 - 14 and will do the journey in stages. He has arranged to stay with friends in Stowmarket, Earls Colne and Epping Forest before he arrives at Tower Bridge in London.
