Norwich church celebrates club funding boost
2010: Oak Grove Chapel Community Project’s Kids Club leaders are celebrating news of a £5,000 donation from Norfolk Community Foundation towards the work of their children’s clubs in the Catton Grove area of Norwich.
A major slice of income towards these clubs was cut in the spring of this year and the trust is looking for ongoing support from organisations and businesses towards its community work because the church says it believes the children of Catton Grove matter.
“This donation is a real encouragement to the staff and volunteers who serve the whole year long to make a difference to this community,” said Oak Grove’s Sue Savory.
“Kidz Klub has just had an amazing five-day event based around the Disney film, Toy Story, and this coming week 25 teenagers are away at a national youth event. So thank you Norfolk Community Foundation.”
Norfolk Community Foundation’s Grant Officer, Clive Rayner, said: “We were able to make this award due to the generosity of our donors who support our grant giving through the Love Norfolk Fund.
“The Oak Grove Trust has a long track record of providing activities for young people in the Catton Grove area and we are pleased to be able to help this to continue.”
