Church marks stable to sports hall in 75 years
 2010: A Norwich church is celebrating its 75th birthday later this month and a move from a stable to a mission hall and now to a sports hall.
It is 75 years since the pioneers who started Oak Grove Chapel came from what was Wensum Chapel and took over an old stable to begin work in this area of Norwich. The present chapel building was built in the 1960s and the new joint venue with the local school (The Hub) opened three years ago.
Oak Grove Chapel is celebrating this milestone on Sunday 26 September, 10am @ The Hub, Catton Grove Primary School, Weston Road, Norwich.
Pastor Ian Savory said, "We give thanks to God for all he has done, but our focus on the day will be looking to the future. Our current community ministries make contact with at least 1,400 each month and we wholeheartedly believe if we weren’t here the community would notice.
"The day will be the occasion we commission out new Pastor (admin)  Siân Pearce and also the first of our Mission Communities (click here to see details) our speaker are our new friends Paul and Priscilla Reid, pastors of the Christian Fellowship Church, Belfast, who visit us twice a year to bring encouragement to the leadership and congregation.
"We give God glory for all He has done but pray that our fruitfulness now will be the main thing that blesses God. Who we are and the Kingdom impact we have because we want as our vision statement says: To build a Christ Centred Community in Catton and beyond.
"All friends past and present are welcome to join us on this day and stay for lunch afterwards."
