Marriage training chance for Norfolk churches
2010: Mothers Union Norwich Diocese is looking to develop a network of Loving for Life facilitators to work alongside clergy across the diocese. A two-day facilitators’ course will be held on 3 & 4 November at St Luke’s Church in Norwich. It is open to clergy and lay people as well as Mothers’ Union members who want to offer the warmest of welcomes to couples seeking to marry in our churches.
The Loving for Life training course looks at the status of marriage today within the church and the wider community and focuses on encouraging those who are preparing to make the commitment of marriage and supporting them afterwards.
By using case studies and looking at the wide variety of couples seeking marriage today, facilitators are equipped to select appropriate content and methods of delivery for marriage workshops and relationship support and to learn to identify the key skills needed to create a welcoming, non-threatening environment.
Are you interested in becoming a Loving for Life facilitator?
The facilitators’ training will be delivered by professionals who encourage people to apply in pairs as Loving for Life workshops are always to be led by more than one facilitator. There will be a fee of £25 towards costs for non-Mothers’ Union members, with a £5 deposit required at the time of booking (lunch and refreshments will be provided). Training will run from 10am - 4pm on 3rd and 4th November.
To apply for a place on the Facilitator Training please contact Barbara Bryant, Mothers’ Union Project Development Worker on 01603 882003 or email: barbara.munorwich@googlemail.com
