Norfolk church's harvest appeal for tools
2010: A South Norfolk church is collecting unwanted tools as part of their harvest celebration to help people in developing countries become self sufficient with a regular income.
Wymondham Baptist Church will be collecting tools over the weekend of 2nd and 3rd October to donate to Ipswich-based Christian charity Tools With A Mission.
The church is accepting most types of tools, including tools from the shed, as well as gardening, DIY, tailoring, knitting, and manual typewriters. Basically any tools that don’t require electricity can be refurbished to a high standard, and help people become self sufficient with a regular income. (Please find a different home for your lawn mower related tools though!)
Alan Davies, pastor of Wymondham Baptist Church, said "We want to do something different this year from the usual celebrating the food we have - we're really excited about doing something to help others reap an ongoing harvest of their own."
If you have any tools that you would like to donate then please bring them to Wymondham Baptist Church in Queen Street on Saturday 2nd October 10am-4pm for an Open Day, or Sunday 3rd October 10:30am—noon for the Harvest Festival Service.
For more information please contact Pastor Alan Davies on 01953 606 520.
