Norfolk church quiet days and retreats at All Hallows

AllHallowsLogoThe new programme of retreats at The Community of All Hallows has been announced for 2017.  The Sisters of All Hallows offer a programme of led retreats at their convent in South Norfolk.

The Community of All Hallows is an Anglican religious community situated in 22 acres of beautiful grounds, which makes it an ideal centre for retreats for individuals and groups.

The retreat programme is open to men and women.

Saturday March 18: Praying with the elements
As we progress into Spring looking at our relationship with fire, earth, air and water.
Leader: Sister Pamela

Saturday April 8: Lent Quiet Day
A preparation for Holy Week.  This event includes talks and silence to help you reflect on the meaning of the suffering, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  Leaders: Resident Clergy

Saturday April 29: Who is the Greatest?
(Matt 1:1-4) Looking at what it means to be the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven. Leader: Sister Rachel

Saturday May 27: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
A day retreat looking at C S Lewis classic tale, exploring our visions and expectations, and how we might see and anticipate ‘Aslan on the move’ in our world.  Reading the book in advance of the day will not be essential. Leader: Sue McCoulough

Monday June 5 – Friday June 9: Mini IGR (Individual guided retreat)
During these silent retreats you are helped to take the next step on your spiritual journey under the guidance of a prayer guideResidential to be held at Lavinia House. Numbers limited to 8 so book early to avoid disappointment. Leaders: CAH team

Saturday September 30: Holy, Good & Peaceful
A day exploring how can each of us enflesh this in our care for creation? Leader: Sister Sheila

Monday October 2 – Friday October 6: Mini IGR (Individual guided retreat)

Saturday December 2: Advent Quiet Day.
A popular preached retreat to help prepare for the feast of the Birth of Jesus. Leader: To be arranged


Our Quiet Days start at 10am and finish at 4.30pm and cost £12, payable in advance.  There are normally 2 or 3 guided sessions throughout the day, plus some solitary time for you to wonder through our grounds and/or use the Chapel for private meditation.

Our residential retreats begin at 4pm on the Monday, and finish after breakfast on the Friday morning.  The cost is £220 inclusively.

You will need to bring a packed lunch when attending our quiet days, but drinks and cakes are provided by the Community.. 

To book a place, please send a cheque for the total cost (payable to All Hallows Convent) to the Secretary at All Hallows Convent, Belsey Bridge Road, Ditchingham, Bungay, Suffolk, NR35 2DT, along with your name and address and which event you want to attend.
