Testimony and healing at Norwich church
2010: Over the last six weeks, City Church Norwich has experienced an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. One church member gives her personal testimony of healing following one of the special meetings at the church.
UK evangelist John Wilkinson has been involved in the current revival going on in Mobile, Alabama, USA, and has been instrumental in the outpouring of God in City Church Norwich. He is returning this Sunday 5th December to work with the church.
City Church Assistant Minister, Mark Watson, said: “God is doing amazing things in peoples lives, some of the testimonies and stories of God’s dealing with individuals has been extremely moving; you know beyond doubt that God is really at work."
 Leigh's testimony
Leigh Brooks [pictured right], a member of the City Church site at Wymondham, was recently baptised and testified to how God had met her and significantly impacted her life, ‘I saw the power of the Holy Spirit within the people being prayed for and I decided I must take this opportunity or I would always regret it. God was visiting and I was not going to miss out!’ Leigh said, ‘Since then, I have been feeling more at peace right through to my core, the inner turmoil having disappeared. I feel as if a heavy weight has been lifted from me. Things that I had allowed to get the better of me previously were now insignificant compared to the knowledge that I am loved by God. I now have a hunger and thirst to know God, to read my Bible and to pray. God is the centre of my universe and I am so very grateful to Him for speaking to me that day. Yes, that is right, God really was speaking to little old insignificant and unworthy me!’ Leigh added, ‘I had been feeling quite ill in the previous months with various symptoms but since Sunday I have had none of these feelings - I believe the Holy Spirit has healed me!’

 Phil Thorne, Senior Minister of City Church said: “God is in the process of reviving His church and changing lives. We were really encouraged recently to hear the prophetic word spoken over the City of Norwich in a televised broadcast on GodTV from one of the revival meetings in Alabama. God is up to something! These are significant days! This is an important season for the Church, the people of God, in Norwich. Who knows what God will do on behalf of people who will seek Him with all of their heart? Our prayer is that God by His Spirit will touch every church in the City; that every congregation and gathering of God’s people will know the intimacy of His presence and the dynamic power of His Spirit; as we all continue in letting His Kingdom come and His will be done in our streets and neighbourhoods."
Regarding the special meetings Phil added, “Everyone is welcome to come to the meetings. People will be encouraged to give offerings towards the expenses of these events, but they will also be reminded that they should give tithes to their own churches and support their own church services.”
