House of prayer centre set to open in Norwich

People2WebA House of Prayer is set to open early in the new year at the Fishergate Centre in Norwich with a full programme of events, teaching and prayer school. Jill Gower from Call to Prayer reports.

We are delighted to let you know that we are now almost there with our House of Prayer at Fishergate, and will be starting our programme in the New Year.

We plan to have many different things happening there over the course of each week.  This will of course include open times for people to come in and pray and to use the facilities and the different prayer rooms and stations; we will be forwarding more information to you in due course.

We are also aware of the many different streams and styles there are within the body of Christ and hope that we can offer a variety in our programme, and will try to give an explanation of the different things we are doing. Listed below is just the beginning what we are planning to do:

Bible Teaching and Ministry

This teaching is in-depth Bible study with a prophetic edge; bringing alive the word of God to us now, and the relevance for us as believers of Jesus. The word of God is living and active (Hebrews 4:12), and when the Spirit reveals and opens it to us it is life-changing.

Starting on Thursday 13th January we shall be having a weekly Bible Teaching and Ministry morning.  During the next two terms we will be focusing on relationships - our relationship with God, as His child, servant, friend and bride.  We will also be looking at various characters in scripture, their walk with the Lord and what we can learn from their experiences, and also at the prophets and how they related to God. This will be from 10 am to lunch time.

The teaching will be repeated on a Tuesday evening from 7.30pm beginning on 18th January. All are very welcome, drop in and see if it's for you.  There is no charge but we will take up an offering.

Fellowship Meal and Teaching

On Friday nights we are going to have a "Shabbat" meal together - a time of fellowship and food. Afterwards we will be watching a DVD and following the Kesher Course which looks at the Hebrew Roots of our faith.  It is not our aim at Call to Prayer to encourage people to go back into Judaism at all, but understanding the root from which we come from enables us to have a greater revelation of all that Jesus fulfills for us, and a richer interpretation of His words and of scripture as a whole.  In a Jewish home the woman welcomes in the Sabbath by lighting candles, just as a woman (Mary) brought forth the Light of the World.  This will start on Friday 14th January at 7pm.

Prayer School

Robbie Bain, a team member of Call to Prayer, will be running a teaching and prayer school on the "Authority of the Believer". This will include the authority we have in prayer over the works of the enemy.

It will be held on a Friday afternoon, details to follow.  Starting on Friday 14th January..  There is no charge but we will take up an offering.

Evening with Jane Holloway

A date for your diary.   We are very pleased to announce that Jane Holloway will be with us at Fishergate on 2nd February.  Jane is National Prayer Director based at the World Prayer Centre in Birmingham and is really at the heart of all that is happening in our nation especially when it comes to prayer.  She is a very inspiring teacher and will enthuse us all to get involved with God's plans and purposes for our country.  Starting at 7.30pm - all are very welcome - there is no charge but we will be taking up an offering.

There will be a combined event with Transforming Norwich and Unite for leaders in the morning on 2nd February followed by prayer and lunch - all church and ministry leaders are welcome.

All these events will be at: The House of Prayer, Fishergate Centre, Norwich NR3 1SE. Contact Jill Gower on 01508 491770 or jill@call2prayer.co.uk
