Norfolk fellowship band plays at Gorleston
For the first time Gorleston Pavilion will play host to a Salvation Army band. The Norfolk Fellowship Brass are giving a concert there on March 11 in aid of the Palliative Care East centre appeal.
The 30 members of the band will be joined by soloists for a concert of popular marches and other pieces under conductor David Woodrow.
There has been a growing number of fellowship bands around the country which give an opportunity for older and experienced musicians.
The Norfolk one is based at Aylsham where they rehearse regularly with members drawn from all over the county.
The band have twice teamed up with their Ipswich based Anglia counterparts for an autumn concert at the Hippodrome. But they also offered to perform a spring concert in aid of the palliatve care centre appeal, something which was welcomed by the fund-raisers, including patron Tony Mallion who will host the evening.
'I never cease to amazed at the quality of the Norfolk Fellowship's musicianship and it is always a pleasure to work with them. It will sound so good at the Pavilion and will be yet another boost towards the target of £1.5 million which is getting ever nearer'. said Tony.
Tickets for the concert at 7.30 on Friday March 11th are £8 and available from Gorleston Pavilion on 01493 662832
