Norwich community choir celebrates growth

Catton Community Choir2011: It is three years since Catton Community Choir was started by a Norwich church and it is now thriving with 25 members and regular community bookings.


 
Catton Community choir [pictured right] was started by Sarah Ballard in 2008 as part of Oak Grove Chapel. The choir is celebrating its third anniversary aims to be a fun place where all can enjoy music.
 
The choir has helped strengthen links with the community through the fun and entertainment that their music brings.
 
The choir grew out of Oak Grove’s Christmas musicals and members are primarily from the church, community and staff from the local school.
 
The choir has sung at a variety of events in the community and around the city and most recently has started to sing at weddings and has got one wedding already booked for this summer.
 
Another first for the choir was singing at the Community Hospital, Bowthorpe Road at Christmas.
  
 
If you are interested why not drop in to a rehearsal. The choir meet most Monday nights at Oak Grove Chapel at 7.30pm.
