Funds and new faces at Norwich Christian centre
The latest news from the All Saints Centre in Norwich includes new chaplain, £1266 raised through a fundraising dinner and the forthcoming AGM on May 14.
All Saints' Centre is a Christian multi-purpose drop-in centre in the middle of Norwich offering a coffee bar with a range of good quality, low price food and drinks, Christian books and cards, a meeting room and a chapel.
Personnel changes
Barry Furness is retiring from his position of Trustee. Barry was for a number of years the Chairman of the Trustees and more recently took on the role of Chaplain. The Centre would like to thank him for the great work he has done in the many years he has been involved.
Rev. Janet Wyer [pictured below], associate Priest at St Peter Mancroft, is to be All Saints' new Chaplain. Janet is already a regular visitor to the Centre.
Another recent newcomer is Margaret Hill who has taken on the role of Secretary to the Trustees. Two recent volunteers are helping with some of the Centre's computing tasks.
Events and fundraising
The first ever formal dinner party took place at the Centre in March when local and talented group ((reprise!)) entertained a large party of guests.
Donations of food and equipment, as well as all the voluntary help, meant that there were minimal expenses and £1266 was raised. A subsequent anonymous donation of £250 enabled essential electrical work and kitchen repairs.
Annual General Meeting
This year’s Annual General meeting will be on Saturday May 14 at 2.15pm in the Centre. Following the business of the meeting a speaker from the Norwich Street Pastors will be welcomed followed by tea.
