Norwich church answers difficult questions
A recent series of events hosted by Proclaimers church giving members of the public an opportunity to have their questions answered about faith, God and Church has proved a great success.
“We have been overwhelmed by the response from people,” said Lead Pastor Tom Rawls. “We’ve had TV cameras out and about asking passersby questions; people have been asking their friends who wouldn’t normally go to a church for their questions.
"We’ve had all sorts of topics covered in the questions people have emailed in. There was such a great response in asking questions, and people have expressed appreciation on hearing the answers from our panel, that we decided to extend the event for one more week.”
Throughout May in each of their weekend services held at The Space, Roundtree Way, Norwich, a panel have been answering the questions pitched at them.
Some of the questions already covered include: If God is benevolent then why does He send people to go to hell? What does the church really think about homosexuality? Why do good people get cancer? And how can you believe in God when you cannot see Him?
Questions covered last weekend included: What does the church think about divorce? What is the answer to the recent interview with Stephen Hawking, who said "There is no heaven; it's a fairy story"? and, what proof is there outside of the Bible that Jesus heals people?
