Norwich residents' karaoke marathon challenge
Residents and staff at John Grooms Court, Norwich, will be attempting a non-stop six-hour karaoke challenge on 16 June to raise funds for the much-loved care home.
The ‘’karaokethon’’ will see residents and staff dress up as their favourite pop star and take it in turn to belt out tunes with no interruption for a period of six hours. The event will also be an opportunity for the residents’ family and friends to get together for a day of fun and entertainment.
John Grooms Court, Sprowston Road, Norwich, is home to 20 young disabled adults. The majority have multiple and complex disabilities such as MS, Spina Bifida, learning disabilities, and Parkinson’s. The care home is run by leading national Christian disability charity Livability.
All the funds raised through the event will go towards continuing to provide residents with a variety of fun and educational activities.
Mike Flavell, John Grooms Court manager said: “John Grooms Court residents and staff are really looking forward to the event and we have all been practicing our singing. We hope we will complete our ‘’karaokethon’’ challenge but can’t promise that everything you hear will be in tune…”
