Norfolk training gives people space to pray

Prayer space

An exciting training day on setting up prayer and reflective spaces for young people is running on Wednesday June 29 in South Norfolk.

All three key national members of the Prayer Spaces in Schools team will be at the Sacred & Reflective Spaces in Schools session to share their experience.  The training includes the opportunity to explore and use an interactive prayer space which will be set up the team.

Mark Heybourne, Youth & Children's Work Development Manager from the Diocese of Norwich who are holding the event said, “Though the day will concentrate on its use in schools, having visited a number of prayer spaces I am equally excited about their potential in almost any setting with children and young people, including churches.

I do believe that inviting young people to pray and reflect is one of the most powerful tools we have as youth workers and I hope you will join us on this training day so we can work together on creating prayer spaces all over the Diocese."

If you are a youth or children’s worker or you are a church leader you can get a special bursary for this training day, costing you only £10 including lunch.

‘In a society gone mad with feverish activity, perhaps the gospel, the love of God, and the freedom of Jesus Christ are best communicated by inviting young people to rest and pray like Jesus. It is prayer, much more than words that will allow young people to feel the power and freedom of God’s love.’
