Norwich Cathedral team lend a listening ear
A new initiative has been launched at Norwich Cathedral to provide a confidential, face-to-face chat for people in need.
There are times in people’s lives when they feel in need of a confidential, face to face chat. So, Norwich Cathedral have set up a Listening Post where people can talk in confidence.
The Listening Post is available three times a week in the privacy of St Catherine’s Chapel and there is no need for an appointment.
The team of volunteer listeners have all been CRB checked and many of them work for other charities and have experience of helping people in need.
Richard Capper, Canon Pastor of Norwich cathedral said, "Listening Post is an attempt to provide a opportunity for people to be able to talk freely and confidentially in a safe place, to a good listener.
"There is no appointment system and no charge, people are free to turn up whenever the service is offered. The Listening Post is based in a secluded chapel of the Cathedral but is open for anyone whatever their faith."
The listening post is in St. Catherine’s Chapel at the following times:
