Free gospel workshop set for Great Yarmouth
Vocal coach to the stars Jenny Edmonds will be leading a free Gospel Workshop and concert in Great Yarmouth on Saturday August 13.
Jenny Edmonds has worked as a conductor, musical director and vocal coach to artists including Westlife, G4, Christopher Biggins and The Nolan Sisters.
Jenny grew up in Great Yarmouth and she attributes her choice of career to her childhood, surrounded by music at Great Yarmouth Salvation Army Citadel and to a wonderfully supportive family. She is very excited to have been offered the opportunity to run a Gospel workshop.
Originally from Great Yarmouth, Jenny moved to Cambridge in 1994 to study for a BA (Hons) in Music. Having completed her degree Jenny went on to pursue a career in Musical Direction/Conducting, Choral work, vocal coaching and music performance.
Her work as a conductor and musical director has seen her travel around Europe and the UK, working with a multitude of vocal groups and performers, including; West End casts of shows such as The Lion King, Les Miserables, Saturday Night Fever, Fame and Notre Dame de Paris and with the London Community Gospel Choir.
Her work as a vocal coach has seen her work with artists such as Westlife, G4, Jonathan Wilkes, Caroline Flack, Kevin Adams, Christopher Biggins, The Nolan Sisters, Maggie Moone, Shean Williams, Susan Maughan, Lydia Griffiths and Mark Rattray.
Since becoming a mother in 2000 Jenny moved into teaching full-time and is now Head of the Music and Performing Arts Departments at Cambridge Regional College. She also continues to teach choirs at Bodywork Company where she was previously Head of Singing for the Performing Arts course.
Gospel Workshop and Concert
Date: Saturday 13th August
Venue: The Salvation Army, Tolhouse Street, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, NR30 2SQ
Time: Workshop and Rehearsals start at 10am, Lunch will be around 12pm, the 2nd Workshop and Rehearsal will start around 1pm with a final Gospel Concert being performed around 4.30pm.
