Norfolk revival prayer wave gathers churches
The eighth set of Regional Prayer for Revival meetings continued across Norfolk this week including meetings in Norwich, Fakenham, Carleton Rode and Great Yarmouth, bringing together numerous pastors and churches praying for God to revive His church across the city and region.
Phil Thorne, pastor at City Church said, “We are so grateful to God for bringing so many pastors and churches together to pray for unity. There is a noticeable standing together as leaders and churches in Partnership Without Ownership have a genuine aspiration that declares, “Your success is my honour.”
Fakenham Prayer for Revival Centre
Bob McKay, pastor of Fakenham Baptist Community Church, that had their first meeting, said “We were greatly encouraged to see five churches represented at our first Prayer for Revival meeting. There was a real sense of unity and purpose both in worship and during the times of prayer.”
Dennis Huggett of Victory Villages Church, North Elmham, went on to say, “We started with worship lead by the Baptist worship group which prepared us for prayer. After an explanation of what Prayer for Revival is about, we got into prayer with different leaders taking the lead. There was a significant sense of the presence of the Holy Spirit. There was a prophetic word brought: ‘Places around Norfolk were being hit by light and starting to smoke. Then they burst into fires around Norfolk and then spreading further afield. Revival will come to those who have prepared their hearts and through them it will spread out.’
Gt Yarmouth Prayer for Revival Centre
Dave Weeks, site pastor City Church Gt Yarmouth, said, “We had a good time on Monday evening at Great Yarmouth. There were about 10 churches represented, including 4 senior pastors. Expectancy for God to move remains high with an increased anticipation of God moving in healings. I believe God touched hearts with regard to the lost and the needy, and much time was given to pray for that. There was also a rise in people’s hearts to pray for the Council and the local media.”
Norwich Prayer for Revival Centre
Vic Ready, pastor Taverham Evangelical Church, said, “Unity is something we all look for and desire within our own church congregations. However, what we are seeing more of at each of these meetings is a much greater unity, the unity of churches of all denominations, both city and county wide, to put first the Kingdom of God and unite collectively to that end.”
Trevor Pimlott, pastor of Norwich Family Life Church, said, “Prayer for Revival is growing with momentum. There was no hype for revival, nothing over the top, just a real sense of unity and the presence of Jesus. We did a lot of praying and I’m expecting a lot of answers. Every minister should have been there. It was a blessed and well spent evening.”
Tony Field leader of Victory Villages Church North Elmham said, “An awesome night in God's presence. Praise that brought us to the throne of God followed by powerful prayer and prophecy.”
Nigel Fox, pastor of Wroxham Road Methodist, said, “The Prayer for Revival meeting in Norwich was charged with energy and passion in prayer. I was then struck by amazing beauty and peace, which then lifted into a great sense of God’s presence.”
Prayer for Revival also meet at Carleton Rode Baptist Church. Rev Mark Taylor, said, “I am beginning to see the Church in unity, not because we think it is a good idea so we will work at it, rather because it seems the only natural place to be.”
