Norwich church runs unusual holiday club
A holiday club with a difference is set to run at South Park Church in Norwich during November. The difference is that it is aimed at senior citizens and not children.
Church pastor, Stuart Bailey, said: “Following the success of South Park Church's Holiday Club in the summer, a number of our congregation asked why we can not do something similar for older members of the Church.
“We asked ourselves why should children have all the fun? So, here it is, we are calling it Advent Club. It is aimed towards senior citizens, but open to all ages.”
Running from Tuesday November 22 to Thursday 24, it will take place from 2.30 - 4.30pm and will include crafts, music, food and a seasonal message each day.
Stuart said: “One of the South Park church members is Norfolk Evangelism worker Les Moore who has recent experience of running 'Holiday Clubs' in residential homes. We are looking to utilise his experience and our own long tradition of running events for senior members of the local population.
“The events will be accessible to people of all abilities and we will make every effort to provide transport for anyone who wishes to attend; everyone really is welcome to this free club.
