John joins team at Norwich Christian centre
The All Saints drop-in centre and café in Norwich city centre has released its latest newsletter with details of a new assistant manager and several events leading up to Christmas.
John Dunning (pictured right), a volunteer with the centre for the past two years has recently been appointed as assistant manager.
Manager Karen Maidstone said: “John brings to the position his love of people as well as many and varied skills and interests. He was a professional musician for 20 years, before changing direction and training at Sparsholt Agricultural College. He has worked as a shepherd, on the land and with machinery. He has also been a youth club leader and worked with the disabled at a horse centre in Devon.
“He has a great love of rural life and a passion for the old country crafts. He is skilled in willow basketry work and hazel fencing and has been involved in the building of ancient round houses for a Celtic site often visited by Time-Team for information in their searches.”
The newsletter also has details of the popular All Saints annual Christmas stall and Grand Christmas Draw. The stall will be in the Centre from Monday November 28 until Saturday December 3, from 10-4pm each day.
On Saturday December 10 the Centre will be welcoming the young Norfolk Keyboard Orchestra from 10-1pm. This year’s Carol Service will be on Thursday December 15 at 2.30 pm in the Centre and will be followed by seasonal refreshments. The Centre has had its own Christmas cards designed and they are now on sale.
