Ex Norfolk Bishop and Chief Constable meet

CatholicPoliceSmithMcPhersonA former Norfolk Chief Constable met a former Norfolk Bishop for the first time at a Catholic Police Guild Requiem Mass in London this week.
The Mass at Westminster Cathedral on November 8 was held in remembrance of all deceased police officers, in my capacity of the Guild's publicity officer.

The main celebrant was the Archbishop of Southwark, Peter Smith who was Roman Catholic Bishop of East Anglia from 1995 to 2001, based at Poringland near Norwich.

Also present at the service was Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner Ian McPherson who was chief constable of Norfolk from about 2005 to 2008.

Catholic Police Guild press officer, John Kenny from Norfolk, thought it would be a good idea to introduce them to each other as their paths had never before crossed.

Senior and serving Police officers from across the country took part in the service which included the Metropolitan Police Male Voice Choir.
