Ex-armed robber speaks at Norwich dinner
2011: A former armed robber and drug dealer whose life has been totally transformed from a life of crime was the guest speaker at an inspirational Christmas dinner in Norwich on Wednesday, December 7 at the Holiday Inn, Ipswich Road.
Darrell Tunningley was shot and stabbed during a life of violence that left him full of anger and gripped by addiction, but today he does valuable work among ‘excluded’ young people as an ordained minister. His remarkable story is told in the book, ‘Unreached.’
A former Rugby League player at county level, he fell into drug addiction and drug-dealing that led to a dawn police raid on his home.
In prison, Darrell’s surprising journey to a new life of faith began when he attended an Alpha discovery course led by two elderly nuns. Darrell's story from then on is truly inpirational.
