Chip Kendall to head Celebrate youth event

ChipKendallBand450
2011: Former thebandwithnoname frontman Chip Kendall will headline a new youth event as part of the Celebrate Norfolk weekend in Norwich next June.

The youth event, being organized by Danny Doran-Smith, director of ENYP and part of the Celebrate team, will include the Chip Kendall Band (pictured above), DJ Galactus Jack and other local and national Christian DJs and bands, on Saturday June 9, 2012.

After 10 years of touring the world, performing and speaking with thebandwithnoname, Chip Kendall has now gone solo. He continues to broadcast regularly as a youth presenter on both Cross Rhythms and GodTV, but Chip still believes there's nothing like face-to-face contact and showing up in person.

The Chip Kendall Band has already got some pretty impressive gigs under its belt including Greenbelt, Creation Fest, BigChurchDayOut and Lumen Festival in Slovakia but this is only the start! With their excitement for connecting heaven to earth and modelling God's Kingdom-party, they are bringing a whole new sound for a whole new generation of activist worshippers.

Danny Doran-Smith said: “Chip is a passionate evangelist and gifted communicator. He carries his unique calling to connect with people of all ages from a variety of different backgrounds. He has joined forces with some big names, including Cross Rhythms, launching a youth media movement called Myvoice.

“We’re really pleased to have The Chip Kendall Band as part of the Celebrate weekend. I was part of the Church of England Youth Task Force team who brought thebandwithnoname to Norwich Cathedral back in 2009. They helped make that night such a memorable event for so many young people that attended.”

There will also be a number of activities focused on equipping and supporting those who work with young people at the Celebrate weekend. A number of local churches and Christian charities will provide training and opportunities in a busy programme of events.

Venue and ticket details will be released soon on the Celebrate Norfolk website.
