Norwich Christian youth group wants members
A Norwich Christian youth group, based at the Open Youth Venue, which explores issues young people face about life and faith, is looking for new members aged 16 - 25. Young People’s Worker Hazel Palmer reports on what new members can expect.
The Matthew Project Youth Team Christian Youth Group is looking for more members.
The Project has been making a difference in Norfolk to individuals, families and communities affected by drugs and alcohol since 1984. We were asked two years ago if we would provide a youth group which explores issues young people face and about faith and Christianity.
The Christian Youth Group is a new venture for the Youth Team and we meet on a Monday every fortnight in the Open Youth Venue from 5-7pm and welcome any young person between the ages of 16 - 25.
It is an exciting opportunity for young people to use the facilities available at the OPEN Youth Venue and take part in interactive activities organised by the leaders of the youth group. It is a place to make new friends and enjoy refreshments.
Young people are offered advice about issues facing them in life and also discover creative ways to explore and express faith and spirituality – but nothing too embarrassing!
We look at what Jesus might think and at the views of key Christians, and what it means to us and our world. We don’t have all the answers to today’s difficult situations but together we believe we can make a difference to ourselves and others.
The next two youth group sessions are going to be run on the January 23 (watching a film) and February 6 (having games tournaments) from 5-7pm at the OPEN Youth Venue.
We continue to pray that this new venture will be a great success and we hope you will join us in doing so too. Come and check it out!
