Ipswich Road opens the Discipleship Toolbox

Ipswich Road United Reformed Church is making 2012 a year to focus on discipleship. On Sunday mornings and evenings, and throughout the week, there will be a focus on how we can follow Jesus more closely.
On Sunday mornings we will be building up our toolbox:
- 26 February – Tools to unearth the Bible’s treasure
- 25 March – Tools to develop conversation with God
- 29 April – Tools to delight in God
- 20 May – Tools to feast together
- 24 June – Tools to share good news
- 29 July – Tools to give God your all
- 26 August – What next?
On the third Sunday evening of each month, we have a new 'Open the Word' service where we will be focussing on the Sermon on the Mount: Jesus' most well-known, but probably least understood and obeyed block of teaching.
During Lent, we have four 'Hours of Prayer' at the Church from 8-9am to look at the discipleship themes of Obedience, Holiness, Mission and Sacrifice.
- Ash Wednesday 22 February - Obedience
- Tuesday 6 March - Holiness
- Tuesday 20 March - Mission
- Thursday 5 April - Sacrifice (the Sacrifice prayer stations and reflections will be available all Holy Week in the Church)
All are welcome! Resources, including downloadable sermons, will be made available via the newsletter and website (ipswichroad.urc.org.uk). |
